Now that the dust has settled…….
WOW! what a fantastic night we had on Saturday for our Youth Presentation evening at St Kentigern’s (The Place to be!). It was fabulous to see close on 100 of our youth players celebrating a fabulous year of underage Gaelic football for St Lawrence’s. It was brilliant to see all those club friendships blossoming off the field in a social environment and there was a real buzz in the room. Congratulations to all the children on their awards, all thoroughly deserved.
The club would once again like to express a massive thank you to our special guest on the evening Cillian O’Connor who went out of his way to come and present medals and trophies to the children, offer some words of wisdom, pose for photographs and chat to anyone and everyone who wanted a few words. Cillian even took time out of his day on Sunday to visit one of the founders of the club, Tommy Duffy, a lovely gesture which is very much appreciated.
A big thank you also goes out to the wonderfully talented Ailish and Ciara from Moor Irish who kept us entertained with some great live music during the evening and likewise to our multi-talented youth footballers who also gave a wonderful exhibition in Irish dancing and traditional music – Irish culture is alive, well and in very safe hands here in Manchester!
A big shout out to Kevin and all the staff at St Kents who helped ensure the evening went to plan and kept everyone topped up with drinks! Thank you also to Anne-Marie for capturing some super photos of the night.
A final thankyou to all those who purchased raffle tickets online in advance or on the night and to those who donated the vast array of fabulous prizes (winners of the top raffle prizes are shown below). The continued support & enthusiasm of children, parents, grandparents, sponsors & all our volunteers is what keeps this great club ticking along and going from strength to strength something we should all be very proud of.
