So now that we know the four semi finalists, here is the 2nd update on the World Cup 2026 Predictor Competition!
As a reminder, we had 185 entrants in total, meaning we have £925 in the Prize fund to be distributed amongst the top 3 places come the end of the tournament.
Following the Group Stages, no one had predicted all 12 group winners correctly but we did have 32 entrants however who managed to predict 11 group winners correctly and were sat on 110 points.
After some exciting knockout games, with some notable last minute winners and penalty shootouts we now know that Spain, France, England and Argentina are the four semi-finalists with those games taking place this Tues & Weds 14th & 15th July.
19 entrants correctly predicted all four semi-finalists correctly bagging 20 points per correct prediction plus the extra 20 bonus points for guessing all four correctly.

* Tournament Winner (50pts), 56 entrants have predicted Spain to win, with 47 opting for France, 22 opting for Argentina and just 8 selecting England to win the whole tournament.
* Golden Boot Winner (50pts) , Mbappe (FRA) & Messi (ARG) currently lead the race for the Golden Boot on 8 goals with Mbappe in the lead by virtue of having one more assist than Messi. These are closely followed by Bellingham (ENG) and Kane (ENG) both on 6 goals, Dembele (FRA) on 5 with Oyarzabal (ESP) on 4 with Haaland (NOR) on 7 no longer in the race following Norway’s exit. From that list, Mbappe was the most popular with 49 entrants predicting him to win the Golden Boot, followed by 42 voting for Kane, 10 for Dembele, 7 for Oyarzabal, 2 for Messi and no votes for Bellingham.
* Total Tournament Goals (50pts), with just 4 games remaining, there have been 292 goals scored at World Cup 2026 so far, at an average of 2.92 per match. What will be the final number? There are 66 people who have predicted 292 or more goals for the tournament who are in with a good shout of picking up these 50 pts, although one person predicted 2,320 goals which I think my be a stretch too far! 😊
